ULTIMATE COACHELLA GUIDE : ESSENTIALS, LOOK BOOK, TIPS + TRICKS I NEON DOTS
Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. I am extremely excited for this post because this is the ultimate Coachella guide. You want some hair, makeup, or outfit ideas? You got it, and you can find out my Coachella essentials and some tips and tricks. I am going to stop talking, and let's get started!
LOOK BOOK:
1) OUTFIT
I love this outfit because it is so different from all of the other 'basic' Coachella outfits, which is typically boho tribal print pants or shorts, a crochet halter, sandals, and most importantly, the flower crown. The great thing about this outfit is that all of these items you can buy for great prices.
To recreate this, you will need:
•Denim vest (you can DIY one by cutting off the sleeves of an old denim jacket, and fray the sleeves for a more distressed look by using tongs)
•White t-shirt/crop top
•Flowy shorts (if they don't come with small tassels, you can buy ones from a craft store that match your shorts and glue them on with fabric glue)
•Bandana
I think that bandana's are a great substitute for the basic flower crown. You can tie them around your neck, your head, or even around a cute shoulder bag. Fringe is also big at Coachella, which plays out a more bohemian vibe throughout the music festival, so the tassels tie in that effect, yet you are still playing with textures and your outfit stands out.
2) HAIR
I love the space bun look for Coachella. It is super adorable, super easy, and you can even rock this hairstyle outside of Coachella as well.
You will need:
•Hairbrush
•Bobby pins
•Small hair ties
Take a section of your hair towards the left side of your head, and pull it up, tying it into a ponytail. Wrap the hair around your hair tie and secure it with bobby pins, pushing them inside. Repeat with the other side. It is that simple, super adorable and super easy.
3) MAKEUP
Start off with your regular face, brow, and eyeshadow routine. Afterward, apply a teal eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eyes. Make sure that you stick with this color as your main theme throughout the look. Use the same color and line your water line as well. Take a liner or whatever makeup tool you would like that matches the main color you are sticking with, and create dots going along your eyebrows. You can add fun designs using white eyeliner, which always looks adorable with any Coachella look.
I recommend trying to keep it simple, and later adding details here and there. Make sure you have a great highlighter as well!
TIPS + TRICKS/ESSENTIALS - WHAT TO PACK IN YOUR BAG:
I recommend bringing a bag with you to Coachella, because there are a lot of things that I recommend you bring.
1) Starting off, bring water bottles! They do sell them, but, because of the hot weather, the lines will get extremely long, so I would bring water bottles so that you don't have to wait to get water.
2) Make sure to bring hand sanitizer or hand wipes because I believe Coachella does not have any sinks to wash your hands in, which is extremely unsanitary, so make sure to bring something so that you can clean your hands.
3) Sunglasses! It is going to be extremely sunny, so I would definitely bring a good pair of sunglasses.
MAKE SURE TO BRING:
When packing, bring flash tattoos, which are extremely popular at Coachella. You can buy them at the dollar store, Target, any craft store, Amazon, etc. All you have to do is cut out the fake tattoo that you want, take off the clear part of the flash tattoo, and turn it over so that the design is on your skin. Wet a towel or a cloth, and press it on the tattoo for 30 seconds - 1 minute, or you can follow the directions. Peel it off, and you are ready to go! They are so adorable and an essential for Coachella.
Also, bring a portable charger, whether you decide to bring it with you to the music festival or not, because I can tell you right now that you will be using your phone to film, take photos, and other fun stuff, and you may also be playing games as well when you have time, so I would bring a portable charger so that your phone doesn't die.
I hope you guys found this post helpful. If you did, or you or one of your friends are going to Coachella this year, make sure to share this post. Kisses to my neonators!
