BACK TO SCHOOL WITH NEON DOTS: DIY SCHOOL SUPPLIES
This is probably my most excited blog post I have ever uploaded in my whole entire blogging life. Okay, yes, I know that the school year is coming up and it is not fun at all, but you can make it fun! You do not have to be negative, that is your decision, trust me. But making a DIY helps everything because you have a fun activity to do and once school comes along, you will have the cutest school supplies that are unique like no other! Let's get into it!
1) Washy tape pencils
•Washy tape
•Pencils
This is pretty self explanatory, but wrap the washy tape around your pencil, and trust me, you will be able to spot your pencil from afar and if somebody steals your pencil, you have evidence ;)
2) Chalkboard notebooks
•Chalkboard paint
•Sponge brush
•Chalk
•Notebook
Take your chalkboard paint (It's better if you have some newspaper laid out so your surface does not get ruined) and start doing a layer of the chalk, then at least two-three coats in all. Let it dry overnight to make sure, and you can write whatever you want!
3) Personalized binders
•Scrapbooking paper
•Scissors
•White paper
•Washy tape
•Sharpie
•Ruler
Measure your scrapbooking paper so that it will fit inside your binder, and use a ruler, measuring that out. You could also use duct tape and double side it, measuring that as well. Cut out your measurement and use white paper, so that it will make a good label, and put on your class, using sharpie, and to secure that, press some washy tape around the border so that it sticks onto your scrap booking paper and you are done!
4) Emergency kit
•Some kind of box
•Essentials
This is really simple, but every girl knows that (if you haven't had your period yet) you need some new underwear, pads and tampons, and for me, I need my rubber bands for my teeth. If you do worry for bad breath and your school does not allow gum, bring a small toothbrush and toothpaste, and I suggest some hair spray, hair brush, touch up makeup, blotting sheets, and perfume. I did not want to include these things as things that you "need" because you can really add anything.
5) Pencil holders
•Recycled soup cans
•Ruler
•Scrapbooking paper
•Tape
•Scissors
•Sharpie
•Glue gun
First, measure the height of your scrapbooking paper, and draw those measurements onto the scrapbooking paper, after, cutting that out, and if there is a lot more left, you can either keep it and keep on wrapping that around the can or cutting it, and you can tape it or glue it on, I just thought that tape is probably something that everybody has, and here is where you need a glue gun or a glue stick and you can glue them together into a pyramid shape, if you would like, which is again, totally optional.
Hope you guys liked this, and I am super excited to be doing this series now! If you want to share your crafts with me, use the #schoolsupplieswithneondots (I know, it is long...) and Google+ is the most helpful. See you guys in my next blog post. Kiss kiss!
XOXO,
Neon Dots
