WEDDING IDEAS: BRIDESMAIDS - TIPS, TRICKS, AND DIY'S I NEON DOTS
Hey guys! I feel like I haven't done a wedding related post in a while (I will link all of my previous wedding related posts at the end of this one), so I thought, why not give you brides-to-be some ideas so that you can ask your bridesmaids to be a part of your special day. If you are new to my blog, welcome, I post DIY's, fashion related posts, wedding ideas, planning ideas, organization, and so much more, so please stick around, and if you are wondering, I find all of my ideas on Pinterest, so these are not my original ideas, but I always want to share what I find online with you guys, so let's just get started!
TIPS/TRICKS
1) First, you need to find who's going to be your maid of honor, and the rest of your bridesmaids. I suggest making a list. You can actually search up on Pinterest some tumblr templates so that you can create a wedding binder. (I did a whole other post on how to organize your binder, so again, that will be linked below.)
2) If you are a busy person, do not hesitate to hire a professional to plan your wedding, even your party for you.
DIY:
1) MUGS
•Sharpie
•Mug
All you want to do is take a plain mug and your sharpie, and make sure that you can wash it and the sharpie will not remove off the cup, and you can write their name or draw on whatever design you want, and then you want to bake it, obviously on 350, like everything else, and only for around five to ten minutes.
2) GRAPEFRUIT MINT SUGAR SCRUB
•1/2 cup coconut oil
•1/2 cup white sugar
•Zest of 1 grapefruit
•1 tablespoon grapefruit juice
•10 drops peppermint oil
•25 drops grapefruit oil
•1/4 teaspoon beet juice (optional for color)
Place the firm coconut oil and white sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Mix together on low speed, until a thick paste is formed. Add the grapefruit zest, grapefruit juice, peppermint and grapefruit oil, and beet juice, if desired, to the mixture. Mix on low until incorporated and then turn the speed up to medium for about 20 seconds, or until mixture is well blended and fluffy. Store in an air-tight glass jar in the refrigerator.
3) PEDICURE IN A JAR
•Mason jar
•Nail plish
•Files
•Whatever you use for spa days or what not
•Ribbons
•Print out stickers
Put in the objects into the jar and screw on the lid and wrap the ribbon around, and put the sticker on top, or on the side.
4) DIY MARBLED JEWELRY TRAYS
•White clay
•Colorful clay
•Gold paint pen
•Butter knife
Break off one section of white and one section of colorful clay and twist them around each other.
Keep twisting and kneading your clay until you have an evenly dispersed, marble pattern.
Flatten your marbled clay into a circle, about 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter.
Flatten one more section of white clay into a circle of the same size, and layer underneath the marbled circle.
Using a butter knife, trim off the uneven edges of your two-layer clay circle.
Pinch the edges of your circle upwards so that they form a lip all the way around.
Repeat this technique for the larger tray, using two sections of white and two sections of colorful clay.
Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 275 degrees F oven for about 20 minutes, and let cool.
Glid the edges of your two trays with a gold paint pen.
5) SUGAR LIP SCRUBS
•Brown or white sugar
•Extra virgin coconut oil
•Chopped herbs and fruits of your choice
•Flavor extracts and spices of your choice
Choose your container, and measure your exfoliant so that the container is just about half full.
Measure the coconut oil-you want a 1:1 ratio of oil to sugar.
Transfer oil and sugar to a mixing bowl, then add the chopped herbs and fruits, followed by flavor extracts and spices of your choice. Add each of these "to taste".
Mix gently to combine-over-mixing will make the granules begin to dissolve.
Add scrub to an air-tight storage container and refrigerate for up to two weeks. Remove from fridge at least five minutes before use so that the mixture can soften.
I hope you brides-to-be, maid of honors, or bridesmaids found this helpful. Make sure to share your amazing recreations with me on Instagram using the #lookneondots. Kisses to my neonators, and good luck on your bridesmaids party!
XOXO,
Neon Dots
