DIY NEW YEAR PARTY : SNACKS, DECOR, AND MORE! I NEON DOTS
Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. New Years is also one of my favorite times of the year, other than Christmas, because it is closest to my birthday! I also love making DIY's, and hosting parties as well. If you guys are like me, I think you will really enjoy this post, so keep on reading to see what you can make for this year's New Year party, if you decide to host one. Let's get started!
1) PHOTO BOOTH BACKGROUND
•Black, white, and gold long streamers
•Twine
•Push Pins
•White paper
•Scissors
•Black thin sharpie
Glue gun
Cut a long piece of twine and take several pieces of the long gold streamers. Take the tip of the streamer and make a tight not around the twine. Keep on doing that. Then, proceed to add around 5-10 pieces of black streamer, white, add one or two gold streamers in the middle, more white, black, and then the gold. It is a lot easier than it sounds, I swear!
Take a smaller piece of twine, and lay that out. Cut some pieces of paper, and add a black trim with your black marker, and write, happy new year. Glue that on. Take two push pins and hang up your main backdrop to a wall, and glue down the smaller banner in the middle.
2) GLITTER CUPS
•Plastic cups
•Mod Podge
•Bowl
•Glitter
•Festive straws
•Newspaper
Pour some mod podge in a bowl. Take your cup, and dip it halfway from the bottom into the glue, and start coating it with glitter. Turn it over so that the glitter side is pointing upward, and place that on your newspaper to dry. Once it is done, tap it several times so that all of the glitter is removed, pop a festive straw, and you are done!
3) COUNTDOWN CUPCAKES
•Pre-Made cupcakes
•Colorful paper
•Scissors
•Oreos
•Black frosting
•White frosting
•Sprinkles
•Glue gun
Take your festive, colorful paper, and measure the regular cupcake liners to match your paper. Cut the paper and glue the sides so that the cupcake liners match your theme. Add some white frosting and some sprinkles. Take an oreo, and remove one half of it. Draw a clock, and stick it on top.
4) POTATO ROUNDS
•5-6 baby red potatoes, sliced into 1/4 inch thick rounds
•Olive oil
•Kosher salt
•2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
•8 strips bacon, cooked and chopped
•3 tablespoons chopped chives
Preheat your oven to 400 F. Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Brush both sides of each potato slice with olive oil, and place in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, flipping the rounds halfway. Remove from the oven and top with cheese, bacon, and chives. Bake for another 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve warm.
5) PARTY HAT
•Small party hats
•Gold, textured, fluffy streamers
•Gold spray paint
•Newspaper
•Thin headband
•Glue gun
Take your party hat, and place it on the newspaper, and spray paint it gold. Glue the gold streamer around the bottom and top of the hat after it has dried. Glue the hat on the headband afterward.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Don't forget, if you decide to recreate any of these DIY's, make sure to use the #lookneondots. Kisses to my neonators!
XOXO,
