SUMMER SURVIVAL GUIDE: ROAD TRIP 2016 EDITION I NEON DOTS
Every single summer, I always post some type of road trip post, so I wanted to show you guys, as per usual, some fun DIY's, and some of my favorite road trip essentials, and something new that I've never done before, some road trip life hacks. I think that once you get out of school, you should definitely go on a fun road trip with some of your classmates just celebrating the summer, so let's get started!
DIY SNACKS:
1) NUT CHOCOLATE BARS
•Melted chocolate
•Baking pan
•Parchment paper
•Nuts of your choice
Put the parchment paper on your baking pan and put the melted chocolate on, and then put on your nuts on that, and then stick that in the fridge or freezer for a couple of hours, overnight, or until it's completely hard, and you can break them into pieces and take them with you.
2) STRAWBERRY LEMONADE POPSICLES
•Lemonade
•Strawberries
•Popsicle mold
•Popsicle sticks
Pour your lemonade 3/4 of the way into your popsicle mold and put in the strawberries (you will want to pre-cut them into thin slices so that they can each fit into each mold) and put the popsicle stick inside and stick that into the freezer.
3) YOGURT RASPBERRIES
•Raspberries
•Yogurt (Put it in a ziplock bag and cut the tip)
Squeeze the yogurt into the raspberries and put that into a bowl or on a baking pan with some parchment paper and stick that in the refrigerator or freezer.
4) PEANUT BUTTER APPLE BITES
•(I don't know what this tool is called but there is a tool where you can take out the middle of your apple)
•Peanut butter
•Nuts
•Chocolate chips
So sorry that I don't know the name of the tool, but take out the middle of your apple and cut the rest of the apple into slices. Spread some peanut butter on your apple and put on some nuts and chocolate chips and you are done!
5) CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER SPOONS
•Spoons
•Peanut butter
•Melted chocolate
•Sprinkles
Put on some peanut butter halfway into your spoon and pour on some melted chocolate over that and put on some sprinkles, and you can put that in a plate or a baking pan, and let that set in the freezer until it dries.
ROAD TRIP ESSENTIALS:
1) POLAROID
I love having a camera with me to capture memories with all of my friends and I think that a polaroid is a fun thing to bring along with you because they come in so much fun colors and they are so cute and adorable.
2) FLANNEl
I think that bringing a light flannel is such a cute idea because you're not wearing a heavy jacket but it's still a cute item to throw onto a fun t-shirt and it's so adorable to wear snuggling up by the bomb fire or running around in the water.
3) MAGAZINE
I love to bring magazines with me when I go on road trips because you get to browse some really fun items that celebrities are wearing, you get some fashion inspiration, and really every girl loves to read magazines.
4) MATTE LIPSTICK
I think that a nude matte lipstick is so cute because when you eat it's hard to take off and something about it is just so cute, and one of my favorite trends right now, so for sure I would bring a good lipstick with me.
5) WATERPROOF MAKEUP
Waterproof makeup is always a good idea because you may be going near the water if you guys are going to a beach or what not. There are a lot of easy waterproof makeup tutorials on YouTube, so check them out!
LIFE HACKS:
1) COVER YOUR DRINK
Cover your drink with a plastic cover so that no bugs get in your drink.
2) CEREAL CONTAINER
Take a cereal container and put a plastic trash bag on the inside so that it's not in your way and it's not taking up too much space, but it's much more nice and neater vs. a plastic bag hanging around everywhere while you drive. Especially if you hit a bump and your trash flies everywhere...
3) COFFEE CREAMER
Take some empty coffee creamer containers and put some trail mixes in there or whatever small snacks you want.
4) PEANUT BUTTER CELERY
If you are way too lazy to recreate some of the snacks that I showed you guys before, just take a half empty peanut butter jar and add some celery for a quick snack.
5) ACTIVITY BOOK
If you know that it's going to be a long day, take a container and put in some fun small games, and essentials, like a mini note pad, some markers, gum, and some cards, whatever you really want, and bring it with you so that you and your friends have something to do.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and if you want to show me your recreations, use the #lookneondots on Instagram or tag me on my account, which I will link down below at the very end of this post. Kisses to my neonators!
