DIY SUMMER ROOM DECOR I NEON DOTS
Hey guys. I love showing you guys DIY room decor ideas for your room, and I thought, why not make them summer themed, so let's get started!
1) FRUIT GARLAND
•Paper
•Paint brushes
•Paint colors of chosen fruit
•Scissors
•Glue gun
•Twine
Trace some circles onto your paper and cut them into halves, cutting each one out. Then, paint each half to look like your chosen fruit. Remember, if it has layers, for example, if you are doing a kiwi, paint the green first, let it dry, and then paint the white and the seeds, like shown on the picture. Use a glue gun and pull out a long string of twine. Lay out your fruit and then hot glue them to the back of your twine and hang that up over your bed.
2) PINEAPPLE BULLETIN BOARD
•Light yellow, dark yellow, and green paint
•Cardboard
•Cork board
•Template
•Glue gun
•Blue painters tape
•Paint brush
•Mod podge
•Sponge brush
Trace your pineapple shape, using your template and onto your cardboard, and cut that out. Then, trace the same shape onto your cork board, and glue the two together. Then, use your painters tape to make different triangle like shapes all over your cork board. Also, use small strips of tape to create the spikes. Paint the green for the top of the pineapple, and here and there over the body of the pineapple, paint in some of the light and dark yellow paint. Once that all dries, remove the tape and apply a coat of mod podge over it to seal in all of the paint.
3) DONUT GARLAND
•White, light blue, baby pink, and dark brown construction paper (you can also paint white construction paper)
•Hole puncher
•Different colored paints
•Glue gun
•Twine
•Paint brush
•Scissors
Cut some circular shapes with your white construction paper, and then punch a hole out in the middle. After that is done, use some of your colorful construction paper, and make a smaller circle, and make the edges have a scalloped looking edge around the colorful paper. Glue those together, and paint on some sprinkles on that. After all of that has dried for a couple of hours or overnight, use your glue gun to glue the twine to the back of the donuts, lay it out before you do anything to make sure you know where everything goes and you like what you see, and glue that all together, and hang it in your room.
4) RAINBOW ART DECOR
•Rainbow colored spray paint
•Thick string
•Tape
•Canvas
(Do this outside!)
Tape some string across your canvas and tape it all to the back. Then, spray paint all of your rainbow colors, making sure to overlap them, not in any particular order, and once everything has dried for a couple of hours, overnight, or until everything is dry, remove the strings and tape.
5) PINE CONE PINEAPPLE
•Yellow paint
•Pine cone
•Long green leaf paper shapes cut out
•Glue gun
Paint your pine cone with your yellow paint and glue the leaf shapes onto the very top. You can curl them with some scissors as well. Make sure everything dries.
