SUMMER SURVIVAL GUIDE: DIY SUMMER POOL PARTY I NEON DOTS
Hey guys. Today I wanted to show you guys some fun DIY's to have at a summer pool party. I am officially out of school and I am so excited, and to celebrate summer, my friends and I are going to have a pool party, so I thought that if I am going to make some DIY's, I might as well show you guys how to make it too, so let's get started!
1) COLORFUL PINEAPPLE
•Colorful paint
•Sponge brush
•Pineapple
Take the top of your pineapple and start painting the top with your paint, using your sponge brush, and let that dry for several hours or overnight. It is a cute decoration to have on a table or what not and you can eat it later.
2) FLIP FLOP COOKIES
•Round cookies
•Colorful icing in bag, tip cut
•Sprinkle
Pipe your icing on the cookie to make the straps, and go from the middle side, upward, and to the other side, in the middle, like shown on the picture, and then add your sprinkle on the tip.
3) MASON JAR STATION
•Mason jars
•Bucket
•Ice
•Ice cream
•Toppings
•Spoons
Take your mason jars and put several scoops of ice cream in each jar, and while you're doing that, have someone else fill your bucket with ice and put the mason jars, when you are done, in the bucket. Then, put some toppings in bowls, lay out some spoons, and you have the cutest little ice cream station.
4) BALLOON POOL
•Balloons
Literally, this is probably the easiest DIY and yet it may take the longest, depending on how long your pool is. Just blow up some balloons, and put them in the pool, and it adds a fun splash of color. If it's night, you can add some glow sticks inside each balloon for a fun touch.
5) ICE COOLER FLOATY
•Rectangular bucket
•Ice
•Drink
•Floaty
•Knife
•Twine
Measure the sides of your bucket and cut your floaty to your measurements, and pull a piece of twine through each piece around the bucket, and tie the ends together, and then put in some ice and drinks.
6) POOL JELLO CUP
•Blue jello
•Cup
•Graham cookies, smashed up
•Round candy
•Small teddy bear candy
•Cup
•Small umbrellas
Make your jello mixture according to your recipe that you are using, and pour the mixture into a cup, and let that dry to make it the consistency that you are looking for, if that makes sense, and sprinkle the mashed up graham cookies over the jello, but only on half to replicate the sand, and put two of the round candies on top and put some teddy bears inside, and push in a small umbrella.
7) UMBRELLA GARLAND
•Round styrofoam
•Umbrellas
•Twine
•Glue gun
Push the umbrellas into the styrofoam shape on the front and sides, but leave the back plain, and glue some twine to the back, and you can tie it wherever you want too.
8) SUMMER PHOTO BOOTH
•Sheet
•Twine
•Summer items (surfboard, balloons, garland, etc.)
Put up a sheet of paper and hang it up on some twine, and tie the ends together onto a tree nearby, and put up some summer related items, and you can have a mini photo shoot with your friends.
9) MANGO CHILI POPSICLES
•2 1/2 cups mango nectar or mango juice
•3/4 cup diced mango
•1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, about 1 medium orange
•1 teaspoon chili powder
Combine the diced mango, orange juice, and teh chili powder in one large bowl. Spoon the mango mixture evenly into each mold. Pour the mango nectar evenly to top off each mold. Cover and insert each popsicle stick. Freeze them for four hours or until the popsicles are completely frozen. Let them sit in the freezer for a couple of hours or overnight.
10) NUTELLA POPSICLES
•1 1/2 cups whole milk
•1 tablespoon corn starch
•1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread
•2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
•1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1) Add the milk and corn starch to a small sauce pot. Stir until corn starch is dissolved.
2) Place over medium heat. Add the Nutella and cocoa powder to the pot. Stir often to prevent the Nutella from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Heat just until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture thickens, about five minutes. You do not need to bring this to a boil for it to thicken.
3) Remove the pot from the heat. Stir the vanilla into the chocolate mixture. Let it cool for about five minutes, stirring occasionally.
4) Pour the chocolate mixture into popsicle molds. Insert popsicle sticks according to your popsicle mold directions. Freeze for at least six hours.
5) When ready to eat, hold the popsicle mold under warm running water to remove the popsicles easily.
