3 DIY PRESENT IDEAS FOR YOUR FRIENDS + 3 DIY BIRTHDAY CARDS I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. I honestly love giving out presents, but I also love to personalize the gifts that I give to suit everybody's personality so that they know and feel like you care about them. I'm definitely not saying that store bought gifts aren't great, but I personally love to receive gifts made from my friends because I know how much time and effort they put into it, so I'm going to stop talking and let's get right into it so that you guys can get some inspiration!

DIY BIRTHDAY PRESENTS:

1) BIRTHDAY BUCKET

You will need:

•Bucket
•String
•Tag
•Nail polish, candles, etc.

Put in your bucket anything that your friend will like, for example, a cute thin shirt, some nail polish, candy, and something that relates to an inside joke you two may have. Write something on the tag and punch a whole into it, and put it in the string, wrapping that around the bucket.

2) RECIPE MUG

•Pen
•Mug

Take a recipe that you can easily make in a mug, and write it on the cup. Then, bake it so that it so that the ink doesn't run. I believe that there may be instructions on how long to bake it and at what temperature online.

3) ICE CREAM SUNDAE BOX

•Box
•Printed paper
•Pen
•Twine
•Whole puncher
•Cellophane paper
•Stapler
•Sprinkles, cones, candy, etc.
•Colorful cups
•Plastic spoons
•Big spoon
•Small mason jars

Cut a square that will fit on the inside of the top flap and write down 'Ice Cream Sundae in a box' or whatever saying you want. Wrap your bowls inside the cellophane and staple the top together. Take your ingredients and wrap it in the cellophane, cutting out a small rectangle and whole punching that to the top, making a small bag for your toppings.

For caramel and toppings that are liquids, put them in small mason jars. Wrap your spoon and scooper with some twine and label them, and wrap some cellophane on the cones and wrap that with twine at the tip as well. You want to add a label and wrap twine around toppings and things like that. You can also print out the tags. You may want to use the image above as a guideline.

DIY BIRTHDAY CARDS:

1) WATERCOLOR CAKE CARD

•Pastel watercolor paints
•Fine tip pen
•White card
•Paint brushes

I would personally do the birthday cake in an ombre effect by putting the darker pastels on the bottom, slowly getting lighter at the top. Make one swipe across the card and move upward until you've reached 3/4 of the way of the card. Once that dries, you can add a bow with your pen to make it a present or make decorations for the cake.

2) BIRTHDAY GARLAND CARD

•Twine
•Colorful paper
•Scissors
•Big whole puncher
•Pen
•Glue gun

Cut out a flag pattern and make enough shapes so that the flags can fit on the front of your card. Then, glue them in the center and cut out some holes in regular white paper and write happy on them. Glue that on top and make two bows at the end of a string or glue on some bows on top of regular twine and glue the string on the card. Write birthday at the end and you are done!

3) WATERMELON CARD

•Red, pink, dark green and light green watercolor paints
•Paint brush
•Fine point black pen
•Thick pen
•White card

Make a watermelon shape, either in a triangle or half a circle, dotting on your red watercolor paint and incorporating your pink, making an ombre effect. After that dries, swipe some green around the edge and after everything dries, add some small dots as the seeds. Use your thick pen and write a saying, for example, you're one in a melon.

I hope you guys got some ideas for some gifts/cards you can make for your friends for their birthday, and I know for sure that I will be using some of these ideas for my friends.
