OSCAR OUTFITS : YAY OR NAY? I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. I wanted to talk about the Oscar outfits of 2017, and tell you guys if it was a yay or nay for me, so let's get started!

1) HAILEE STEINFELD

VOTE : YAY

I love this outfit because it is very modern, yet elegant. I love how the fabric flows. I also think that the high neckline is extremely unique.

2) EMMA STONE

VOTE : NAY

Don't get me wrong, I love Emma Stone, and I do love the embroidery on the dress, however I am not a fan of the big line across the top part of the dress, and the fringe. I think that if the dress was only embroidered or all fringe, I would like it more.

3) SCARLETT JOHANSSON

VOTE : IN BETWEEN

I love the pattern of this dress and the skirt. I'm not sure about how lose the top of the dress is, just because the dress is hugged by a belt.

4) JANELLE MONÁE

VOTE : YAY

I love this dress so much! I think that the high neck looks great on Janelle because she has a shorter cut. I also love the pattern of this dress and the pie…

WINTER TO SPRING : 3 FASHION MUST HAVES I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here! I wanted to do a different type of post, and show you guys some transition pieces that you can wear, from winter to spring. Both seasons are great, so I thought I would show you guys what you can wear for both seasons, as well as in between, so let's get started!

1) PATCHED JEANS

I think patched jeans, preferably more loose, such as boyfriend jeans, are so adorable! You can even DIY these jeans by finding some cheap boyfriend jeans. Buy a different colored denim fabric, and cut some square like pieces out. You can sew it onto the jeans or even use fabric glue. If you want to make it more personal, you can add some fun printed patches as well. I think these are adorable to wear out with a fun leather jacket. It makes a 'running errands' outfit much more modern.

2) LOOSE COLD SHOULDER TOPS

I have personally always been obsessed with cold shoulder tops. I love this top as an example because lace is great for spring, and the cream color …

TAHOE TRAVELING RECAP I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. It's been a while since I have blogged, because I have been traveling with my family. I went to Tahoe, and because I was basically not doing too much while I was there, I decided to do a traveling recap instead of a traveling diary series, like I typically do.

I skied while I was in Tahoe. I also rented a cabin with Inspirato. It was absolutely beautiful! The snow was gorgeous, and we had snow covering the roads and trees. My family and I spent some time outside hanging out! I also tripped on ice and fell on my knee, which is always fun!

I thought that I would update you guys on how my trip went. It was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend you check out Inspirato. Kisses to my neonators!

XOXO,

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. Sorry I have been gone for a while, but I am back! Today, I thought I would show you guys some DIY birthday gift ideas and some cards you can recreate for your friends and family. By the way, I am heading up to Tahoe either tomorrow or on Tuesday, so I will try to blog as much as I can for you guys, and let's get started!

1) COFFEE ADDICT GIFT

For those coffee addicts out there (like myself!), you can give your friend the best present ever!

•Mug with coffee saying
•Sponge brushes
•Glitter
•Mod Podge
•Coffee objects (for example, if your friend has a keurig, you can get him or her some k cups)
•Paper worms
•Painters tape

Take your mug and place your painters tape towards the bottom of the mug. Apply some mod podge to the bottom of your mug and sprinkle on your glitter. Let that dry outside. After it is done, you can place some paper worms inside, and place your coffee related objects.

2) OPEN WHEN ENVELOPES

•Envelopes
•Pens
•Paper
•Tape

HOW TO TAKE BOMB NOTES FOR SCHOOL I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. Shoutout to all of those students out there who have to tolerate school! I, for sure, know your struggle girl, and honestly, it is rough. When exams come my way, for my math class, I get to use my notes. It is one of the best feelings, and you have to have cute and accessible notes to use for your test. I love taking notes, and have gone lots of complements on them. I also get asked a lot, how I take my notes and what not, so I thought I would share it with you guys, so let's get started.

1) GRAPH OR DOTTED PAPER

I don't know if you can really see, but you can find dotted notebooks in Japanese dollar stores, or anywhere else. You can also buy it online, but you can find graphing paper anywhere. I find it easier to keep your notes organized and more clean because you have lines, or dots, to track what you are writing.

2) COLOR CODE

If you color code things (make sure to make a little key at the top so you know what colors associate with w…

TOP 5 ITEMS TO HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. I've done a couple of posts like these in the past, so if you want to check those out, I will try to link those at the end of this post for you guys, and let's get started!

1) BOYFRIEND JEANS

I think boyfriend jeans are adorable to wear out. You can dress them with some heels or dress them down by wearing some platform sneakers. It is so easy to wear out when you want to be comfortable, yet trendy. Great for running around.
2) OXFORDS

Oxfords are so gorgeous and definitely an adorable piece to own. They are so girly and cute, and the perfect transition piece from winter, to spring, and all throughout spring. Again, you can pair it with some ripped boyfriend jeans a t-shirt with a blazer, or even a cute pleaded skirt.
3) WRAP SHIRTS

This is actually a shirt from Forever 21, if you guys are wondering. I love the color and the style of this shirt. With some high waisted skinny jeans and tie up flats are so adorable. They are also really fla…

HOW TO PACK EFFICIENTLY + WHAT'S IN MY CARRY-ON I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. Today, I thought I would show you guys how I pack efficiently, and what is in my carry-on. I hope you guys find this helpful for when you are traveling. If you like this post and want to see more traveling related content, make sure to let me know by sharing this, and let's get started!

HOW TO PACK EFFICIENTLY:
1) One life hack that I love to use when I am traveling is using big zip lock bags to pack my items of clothing. For example, I would label one bag tops, and roll my items of clothing to minimize space. Pack them inside the bag and close it tightly, making sure to release all of the air in the bag. I recommend only doing this if you are spending more than five days at your location. It is really helpful, and when you are only traveling for a long period of time, it can really help minimize space in your suitcase.
2) Pack one or two days in advanced to your trip. That way, the day you have to leave, you aren't scattered everywhere …

DASHIN FASHION : 3 WAYS TO STYLE DENIM I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. Today, I wanted to show you guys three ways that you can style denim. I love the all denim trend. I believe I talked about it in a recent post, but I find it so adorable and trendy. I wouldn't say that everyone is wearing denim lately, but I would say that I definitely am. I just wanted to recommend the high waisted Bridgett Skinny jeans from Lucky. They are so comfortable, stretchy, and they are very flattering. Just wanted to throw it out there that I am loving those jeans, so let's get started!

1) T-SHIRT DRESS

Grab a long denim jacket. You can find a lot at any thrift store. Take a t-shirt dress, and pair it with some sneakers and thick sunglasses, and a cute purse. This outfit is for the more simple fashion lovers out there who like to keep it more casual and comfortable. You can wear this outfit on a girls day out with some friends or even walking your dog!

2) SUEDE SKIRT AND HEELS

For my fashionista's out there, denim can be a…

HOW TO GIVE YOUR ROOM A MAKEOVER : STEP BY STEP GUIDE + DIY'S I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. Today, I thought I would show you guys how to give your room a quick makeover. I have been wanting to redo my room for a couple of months, and honestly guys, it is a lot more simple than changing every single furniture element in your room, so let's get started!

1) EXPRESS YOUR PERSONALITY

I personally love bright colors in my room, because they always make me in the best mood, but my number one suggestion is just simply replacing some of your items with colors and patterns that you personally love, and that expresses who you are. It doesn't have to be furniture, just adding some fun touches to your room can spice up the area.

If you want to make your own DIY pom pom lamp shade, just take some pom pom's from your local craft store, and hot glue it to the bottom of any lamp shade. It is seriously so easy and adorable, and you can customize it by making the pom pom's your favorite color.

This can only act as a temporary room transf…

•Valentines Day themed candy of your choice

Stick your heart sticker on the outside of your mason jar, and spray paint it with your gold spray paint. Fill it up with candy, screw on the lid, and wrap some festive ribbon around the lid.

DAY IN THE LIFE : SCHOOL EDITION I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here. I recently did my morning routine, and you guys seemed to like it, so I thought I would do a Day in the Life, school edition for you guys. If you want to check that post out, it will be linked at the end of this post. Make sure to share this with your friends and family if you would like to see a nightly routine, and let's get started!

When I wake up in the morning, I always have some water by my side to help me wake up in the morning, and also to get fluids in my body. I then walk over to my closet and pick out an outfit, as well as some jewelry, and walk over to my bathroom to brush my hair.

I then run upstairs and, depending on the morning, will make myself some breakfast. I have been loving oatmeal, but if I were to have the ingredients at my home, I will toast up some bread and spread on some avocado on it and add some salt or pepper. I then will either add some egg whites on top or some tomato slices.

I then run back downstairs to brus…

JANUARY FAVORITES 2017 I NEON DOTS

Hey neonators, it's neon dots here! Today, I wanted to do my monthly favorites, which is one of my favorite type of post lately, so I hope you guys enjoy, and let's get started!

1) MARBLE AND GOLD PLANNER

This is not the exact planner I have. It is practically the same thing, however my planner is a little bit more wide and it says two thousand seventeen in gold cursive letters. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture of it on their website, or on the internet.

I do have an Èccolo planner, which I got at Home Goods for 7.99. I love this planner because there is so much space to write my weekly to do's, and daily assignments for school. I also have a place to write notes down on the weekly spreadsheet, and the monthly spreadsheet has a lot more room than my old planners. I love how it doesn't have a spiral neck, because all of my old planners broke because of that.

2) BRANDY MELVILLE YOSEMITE NAVY SWEATER

I recently picked up a sweater from Brandy, which says Yosem…
