HOW TO HAVE THE BEST STAY CATION! DIY'S + HEALTHY RECIPES

Hi guys! So, I know a lot of you guys are on Spring Break, and if you are anything like my family, you're most likely going to have a stay cation, laying in bed, watching Pretty Little Liars... Okay, I am hoping right now that somebody out there can relate to any of what I'm saying, so I'm going to show you guy some fun DIY's to do at home, as well as health recipes!

DIY:

1) FUN BATH BOMBS


•1 cup baking soda
•1/2 cup citric acid
•1/2 cup epsom salt
•1 tsp. water
•2 tsp essential oils
•3 tsp. olive oil
•Food coloring
•Bowl, whisk, jar
•Bath bomb mold (or egg poach)

Place all of the dry ingredients in a bowl, and mix them evenly with a whisk. In a separate container, mix all of the liquid ingredients together. Slowly mix the liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients, spoonful at a time. After it is well mixed, place the mixture in the bath bomb mold and pop that in a freezer for a couple hours or overnight, or until dry.

2) COTTON CANDY LIP SCRUB




















•5 tbsp sugar, divided
•2 1/2 tsp olive oil, divided
•6 drops cotton candy flavoring, divided
•2 drops blue food coloring
•2 drops pink food coloring

BLUE SCRUB:

In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp sugar with 1 tsp olive oil. Add three drops cotton candy flavoring and 2 drops blue food coloring. Set aside.

PINK SCRUB:

In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp sugar with 1 tsp olive oil. Add three drops cotton candy flavoring and 2 drops pink food coloring. Set aside.

WHITE SCRUB:

In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp sugar with 1/2 tsp olive oil. Set aside.

MIXING THE SUGARS TOGETHER:

In a separate bowl, add the blue sugar to one side of the bowl and the pink to the other. Pour the white sugar in the middle of the bowl and swirl the colors together with a knife. Put in a container and close lid.

3) MARBLE MUGS



•Disposable container
•Nail polish
•Wood coffee stirrer or toothpick
•Mug
•Sponge brush
•Glossy acrylic sealer

1) Fill the container with warm water. Drip nail polish into the container. Pockets will form. Quickly use the stirrer or toothpick to expand the pockets of nail polish. Then dip your mug into a circular motion. Let dry. Then add a glossy acrylic sealer with a sponge brush just over the design. You might need to add more layers of sealer, depending on your design. Be sure to let dry between applications.

HEALTHY RECIPES:

1) HYDRATING SALAD



•1 English cucumber, diced
•1 can black beans, rinsed
•1 1/4 cups corn
•1 red pepper, diced
•1 cup cherry tomatoes
•1/2 cup packed fresh cilantro, chopped
•1 line
•1 avocado, diced
•Salt and pepper to taste

Place the cucumber, black beans, corn, red pepper, cherry tomatoes, and chopped cilantro in a bowl. Squeeze the fresh juice from the lime onto the salad and stir well. Mix n the avocado, season with salt and pepper, and enjoy.

2) OATMEAL SUPERFOOD BREAKFAST BARS



Base:

•2 cups old fashioned oats
•1 cup slivered almonds
•4 tbsp honey
•1 tbsp coconut oil
•1 tsp kosher salt
•1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
•2 bananas
•1 1/2 tsp vanilla
•1 scoop Vanilla Whey Protein

Topping:

•1/2 cup old fashioned oats
•1/4 cup slivered almonds
•1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
•1 cup fresh organic blueberries
•1/4 cup of coconut-almond milk (or plain coconut or plain almond milk)
•1/4 tsp cinnamon

Base:

Preheat oven to 350 F˚. Line a 9x9 baking pan with parchment paper. Lightly grease with coconut oil. Add all ingredients in to food processor until completely combined and wet. This may take several minutes. Pour into prepared pan and smooth out with off set spatula until evenly spread. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Topping:

Combine ingredients in medium bowl and stir to combine. Removing from oven, spread topping evenly over and lightly press down into base. Bake an addition 15 minutes.

3) STRAWBERRY CHIA OVERNIGHT OATS



•1/2 cup old fashioned oats
•1/2 cup milk
•1/4 cup Greek yogurt
•1 tsp pure maple syrup
•1/4 tsp vanilla extract
•1 1/2 tsp chia seeds
•1/4 cup sliced strawberries

Place all ingredients except for the strawberries in a  mason jar or bowl. Cover tightly with lid and shake to combine. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to server, stir, and the top with sliced strawberries.
